Michal Cottler Wunsch | Israeli Member of Knesset

Chair of the Special Committee on Drug and Alcohol Use

Michal Cotler-Wunsh is a Member of the Knesset for the Blue and White party. She serves as Chair of the Special Committee on Drug and Alcohol Use, Chair of the Subcommittee on Israel-Diaspora Relations, and as a member of the Foreign Affairs and Defense, Law, Children’s Rights, Women’s Rights, and Immigration and Integration Committees. 

Michal was born in Israel and grew up in Canada. She received her LL.B. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and her LL.M. from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She is a PhD candidate in the Human Rights under Pressure - Ethics, Law and Politics program at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Freie Universität of Berlin, researching freedom of speech, civil liberties, democratic theories, and multiculturalism.

Prior to becoming a Member of Knesset, Michal served as a research fellow at the Institute for Counter-Terrorism (ICT) at IDC Herzliya and was a board member at “Tzav Pius” – an NGO dedicated to creating opportunities to connect Israelis along the secular-religious spectrum. She was also a dedicated legal advisor to the Goldin family, working for the return of deceased Israeli soldiers Hadar Goldin and Oron Shaul as well as Israeli civilians Avera Mangistu and Hisham al-Sayed.

Michal is committed to promoting, advancing, and protecting the rule of law, human rights,

Israel-diaspora relations, Jewish communities throughout the world, and integration of old and new immigrants in Israel.

Tommy Huppert | CEO Cannatrek

Tommy graduated from Monash University with an Economics degree majoring in Accounting/Finance. After a stint as a tax accountant, Tommy ventured into the start-up world as an international CEO building 30 years of business acumen in new and emerging industries. He founded Cannatrek, as a medicinal cannabis health economist, visiting Israel, Canada and the USA. During this phase he established its corporate governance and compliance structure, and project managed the enormous task of obtaining all necessary licenses to conduct business in the Australian Medicinal Cannabis industry. This was all achieved “in‐house”. Tommy has drawn together an impressive international network of strategic alliances, and co‐ordinates the inputs of his team of experts as the Cannatrek strategic lead. Cannatrek was founded in 2015 and by 2017, it had been awarded the second cannabis research licence, to begin its journey to provide a better quality of life to Australian patients.

Jason has more than 15 years experience, building strong partnerships across government, corporate and industry sectors. His expertise spans trade, investment and market access. He has worked at senior levels for State Government including as the Chief of Staff to a Victorian Minister of Trade and Investment, Innovation and Digital Economy and Small Business, with Commonwealth departments, and led trade and investment policy development for the Business Council of Australia.

Most recently, Jason was Vice President of Government and Stakeholder Relations for the Asia Pacific at Canopy Growth Corporation - the world's largest cannabis company. In this role he led market access development in the region, and drove advocacy for new international markets to expand exports for the $10 billion therapeutics products business.
